Holding Hands Up High

What We Believe

There is one God who exists in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  A common phrase that is used to describe this is The Trinity or The Godhead.

(Matthew 28:19, Galatians 4:6)

Our Heavenly Father created the universe and us. He is the perfect parent, waiting for all His children to come home. No matter what you have done or what has been done to you, He wants you restored.  He loves you with an everlasting love, and desires to make all things new! He wants you with Him forever.

(Genesis 1:1, Luke 15, Jeremiah 31)

Jesus Christ is God’s Son. God the One and Only. He came down from Heaven, born of the Virgin Mary, lived in flesh the same as us, yet without sin, died on the cross for human sins, was raised from the dead, and is coming again. He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He is The Path to Heaven! There is no other.

(John 1:18, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, John 14:3-6)

The Holy Spirit is today’s manifestation of God until Jesus returns. When Jesus ascended, the Counselor was sent. The Christian believer is endowed with the Holy Spirit for guidance, comfort, giftedness, and assistance in prayer. The Holy Spirit is always at work building up The Body, and His desire is to fill your heart!

(John 16:5-11, Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:26)

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative for all matters of Christian faith and practice.  A life guided by the Scriptures is pleasing to the Lord. The Church is a fellowship of Christian believers, also known as the Body of Christ.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 12:27)

Anyone who knows the right thing to do and doesn’t do it, sins. Just like the first sinners, Adam and Eve, all who sin are guilty and deserve the punishment of eternal death. (James 4:17, Romans 3:23; 6:23)

Salvation from the penalty of eternal death is made possible to humans through the atoning death of Jesus. His sacrifice on the Cross paid the price. The debt we owed was paid buy Jesus. That is, He bears the penalty of our sins.

(Romans 5:8-9)

We cannot earn salvation. It is a gift of God offered to those who believe in Jesus Christ. Our good deeds communicate love and obedience, they do not earn salvation. (Ephesians 2:1-10)

We are called to respond to God’s love by faith, repentance, baptism, and continual Christ-like living. Baptism is immersion in water of a professed believer in Christ. Your response to God is your act of worship.

(Acts 2:37-47; 16:29-34, Romans 12:1-2, Col. 2:6-7)

Christians have the privilege of approaching God in prayer, believing that He hears and answers. God desires for us to pray continually! Prayer is a holy conversation with God in which we share our heart’s desire.

(Ephesians 6:18, James 5:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

God has a specific plan for your life that involves a ministry that you alone will do best! He has given you gifts according to your ability. Investing those gifts in His service is His Will for your life. It is God’s Will for you to live out His plan!

(Luke 19:11-27, Matthew 25, Ephesians 3:14-20)

God desires to use His people, you, in the local church to accomplish His global mission. (Acts 2:42-47, Acts 11:22-26)

Who We Are

Welcome to Dinuba Christian Church

Expect a casual, come-as-you-are time of worship. Blue jeans, shorts, sandals, or suit & tie, all are welcome here.

Nursery

Our nursery is available for newborns, through age 4.

Communion

We believe communion is open to all believers. When the tray is passed to you, take the bread (in remembrance of Jesus), and eat it when you feel led, as an expression of your personal humility, acknowledging your need for Him. As the cup (in remembrance of Christ’s blood shed for all of us on the cross) is passed, please hold it until we can all drink together, as an expression of our unity.

Offering

We honor this tradition as a way to express our devotion to the Lord. This is a free will offering to the Lord. Our giving reflects our commitment to the Lord’s work, both within DCC and throughout the world. It is a physical way to give spiritual thanks. If you so desire, place your gift/offering when the tray is passed.

Invitation

If you wish to make a decision for Christ, wish to be baptized, place your membership at DCC, recommit your life to Christ, or have any praise reports or prayer requests to share, please come forward during this time.
